Day #29

Day #29 - Monday

It's official.  I have laringitis.  Yep.  Had to whisper my order at Grounds Central today.  Hillarious!
Today's special was a Butterfinger Mocha.

Oh. My. Word.  It was sin in a cup!  It was just like drinking a butterfinger candy bar (hopefully with LESS calories!)  The flavors were subtle - strong enough to be definately recognizable, but it avoided the overly sweet aftertaste that can come from other (un-named) coffee store's specialty drinks.

Tomorrow is TightWad Tuesday - where you can get your Latte or Mocha fix for a scant $1.50.  It's a true treat!  Don't miss this opportunity!

Until tomorrow...........

Day #28

Day #28 - Sunday

Again, another beautiful sunny day in the Pacific Northwest.  Not really warm (by Southern or Midwestern standards) but I believe it cracked 70 degrees!  LOL!  It was a crisp and beautiful day and I REMEMBERED to order the daily special!

A Carmel Cinnamon Latte - I ordered mine iced - and it did not disappoint.  This one needs to be repeated.  It was like consuming a warm carmel sundae - that has a sprinkling of cinnamon on top.  Yum.

Until tomorrow......

Day #27

Day #27 - Saturday -

Today's special was the B52.  I completely forgot to order it!  What???  Oh yeah.  That was me on Saturday.  In my defense, I was feeling a tad under the weather - and a bit dizzy (yes, more than normal) and it was a b-e-a U tiful day.  Bright sunshine... I got swept away and ordered a Kona Mocha Blended Ice (Big Train).  It was VERY yum.

Day #26

Day # 26 - Friday

TGIF!  Today's special was Butter Pecan White Mocha.  I tried to drink it slowly... so I could give it a proper review... but I couldn't.  So, I'll just say it was a disappointment... that I didn't order a larger size!

Really yummy.

Tomorrow's special is a B52 ??? No clue as to what it is, but come Saturday, I'll be telling you all about it. LOL.  Happy Friday!

Until tomorrow...

Day #25

Day # 25 - Thursday

Today, I asked the cute barista, Lindsey, to make a drink for me ... barista's choice.  As she handed me my hot coffee drink, I asked, "So, what did you make me?".

A Jamaician Rum White Mocha.   Sweet and smooth with a punch of rum flavoring.  I like it... but I don't think I love it.  :)

Until tomorrow.........

Day # 24

Day #24 - Wednesday

Today was beautiful and bright and warm! How fun is that?  I knew what I was going to order before I even left the house.  My mouth was watering as I drove the short distance to Grounds Central.

What did I order??  A Java Chip Big Train blended ice.  Yep.  A Frappe for me!  It was super awesome.  I will be drinking it again... when the weather is warm... (When will that be??)

Until tomorrow........

Day #23

Day #23

Tuesday - I asked the girls to choose a coffee for me.  They made me a White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie.  Yep.  A COOKIE coffee.  That's a first for me.

For my honeymoon, my husband and I went to Kona, Hawaii - and visited several small plantations (coffee and nut) along the Kona coast.  Our favorite stop was at a little nut plantation that sold "over roasted" macadamia nuts.  They were positively delicious.  And what they considered over roasted, we considered nutty and yummy.

This drink reminded me of that trip and eating macadamia nuts on Hawaii.

The cookie flavoring made it taste just like a cookie ... So, for those of you who like the sweet coffee drinks, this one should be at the top of your list.  I almost always ask for light syurps... so I think, next time, I will order it without the "cookie" flavoring.

Until tomorrow.........

Day #22

Day #22 - Happy Monday Morning!

As predicted, today was drizzly and soggy in the morning - so, I decided on a HOT coffee.

Today's special was a Peach Mexican Mocha.  "Is it good?"  I asked.  Nicki assured me it was "very yummy", so I ordered it.

I don't know what I was expecting... but it was like drinking a hot peach cobbler... with a little chocolate on the side.  YUMMMM!  I really need to learn NOT to question the baristas @ Grounds Central.  :)
Happy Day!   - Oh yeah - and just an FYI  - TOMORROW is Tightwad Tuesday where you can get a Mocha or a Latte for $1.50.  Quite a deal!
Until tomorrow....

Day #21

Day #21 Sunday
We decided to pick up a coffee from Grounds Central after church.....
Again, it was bright and beautiful - NO RAIN - and that alone is cause for celebration!  LOL!

Yesterday's drink was soooo yummy that I decided to try a different flavor of the blended ice "Big Train".  Today, I went for the Big Train - Peanut Butter Mocha .

If you've been following my blog for any time now, you will notice I do ususally try out anything chocolate/peanut butter.  It happens to be one of my favorites.  Yet, I must say, that I liked the Kona Mocha better.  (Whoops!)  The Kona Mocha Big Train had a better, more round flavor.

I also discovered that the Kona Mocha is the #1 ordered drink at Grounds Central!  Ha!  My taste buds are right on track!

I wonder what I will order on Monday??  It's supposed to rain (again!), so probably, I'll be back to the hot coffee drinks.

Until tomorrow........

Day #20

Saturday... Day #20
It was a beautiful, sunny day in the Pacific Northwest, so I just had to go for a cold drink today!
I tried out the "Big Train" blended ice drink... Kona Mocha with whip cream.

Let me just tell you, I am a HUGE frappe fan, and the Big Train Kona Mocha left all I had tasted before in the dust!  The secret, I discovered, was that Grounds Central tosses in extra espresso shots .... WOW!  This needs to be repeated... and SOON!  :)

Until tomorrow.........

Day #19

Well, today is Friday!  TGIF!

Today's special was the Almond Joy Mocha.  Okay... I've decided that there's no possible way to go wrong with a candy bar inspired Mocha.  At first, I was a little skeptical, as I have never really enjoyed the flavor or texture of coconut.

Really, I must learn to trust the gals of Grounds Central.  They are true craftsmen (women) of the espresso trade.

Sigh!  I absolutely LOVE this deal!

Until tomorrow..........

Day #18

So, Thursday, a sweet girl friend of mine picked up one of my normal carpool kids (school carpool).  As a 'thank you', I decided to treat her to a coffee from Grounds Central.... As luck would have it, as I pulled into Grounds Central, her husband was at the other window!

Needless to say, I ordered two, Elaine Specials... which I discovered were Mexican Mochas!  LOL!  It was, of course, delicious!  I've ordered them before.  Cinnamon, almond and mocha.  Can't go wrong with that combination!

Thanks, Elaine... what a fun coffee!  :)

Day #17

Wednesday was "Wired Wednesday" at Grounds Central ... an extra FREE shot of espresso in your drink.  Oh yeah!  I needed that!

I asked the barista, Jen to make me her favorite drink.  She made me a Carmel Silk ... Ohhhhhh!  It was VERY creamy and VERY smooth and VERY silky!  Yumm.!

BTW, a Carmel Silk is a breve white mocha with carmel sauce.

Until tomorrow....

Day #16

So... Today is "tight-wad Tuesday" at Grounds Central.
Pretty cool deal - as you can get a Latte or a Mocha for under $1.50.

I previewed Thursday's special - A drink called "Sweet Reflection"
It was a White Chocolate, English Toffee drink.
During the short wait for my personalized coffee, I learned that this
specific drink was the owner's Mom's favorite.

After sampling it, I can understand why. It was smooth and nutty. Not too sweet.

I love just asking the girls at Grounds Central to surprise me with something new.
They always give me something different, and it's always yummy!

Until tomorrow......

Day #15

So, today I went for the Daily Special -
It just sounded too good to pass up!

One of my favorite candies are the peanut butter M& M's.
Today's flavor special was Peanut Butter Mocha.

Sigh! I might need to repeat this one SOON!

Until tomorrow....

Day #12 (and #13 and #14)

Shhhh! I missed a day! Don't tell! Friday (yesterday), I missed my opportunity to go to Grounds Central and I MISSED A DAY! Aaarrgghhh!

To top it off... I will miss Saturday (Day #13) AND Sunday (Day #14) ... but for good cause. I am in Sequim, WA. Celebrating Easter with my in-laws.

But, Monday morning, bright and early, I will be back at Grounds Central for a new cup 'o coffee. What flavor will I pick?? I have no idea right now...

Day # 11

Happy Thursday! Today was double punch day at the Coffee Shop.
The sky was BLUE.. and we had hardly any rain!
I broke with my standard - mocha flavored coffee drink
and went for a Vanilla Spice Chai.
It was a very yummy hot drink.
Just the smell made my mouth water!
I think I need to explore the other flavors of Chai.
Until tomorrow!
